St. Nicolas of Myra with silver-gilt and cloisonné enamel oklad. Oil on panel. The saint portrayed realistically, raising his right hand raised in a benediciton and holding the Gospels with his left hand. The saint's gilt vestments finely engraved. The raised borders repoussé and chased with Art-Nouveau foliate arabesques on stippled ground. The applied haloe decorated with multi-coloured cloisonné enamelled flowers and foliage on a cream ground. The Saint holding a turquoise, blue and red champlevé enamelled book with engraved Christ Pantokrator. The name plaque in blue champlevé enamel. Marked with assayer's mark, 84 standard and master's mark "CSth" in Cyrillic. Moscow, 1908-1917.
