A rare icon showing the enthroned Mother of God with the Child. Oil in metal, wooden backing. The Mother seated on an elaborate throne holding the Christ on her lap. Christ blessing and resting his left hand on a globe. The silver riza chased and embossed with akanthus and palmetts on stippled ground. The corners decorated with rosettes. Marked with assayer's mark, "84" standard and master's mark "LUBAVIN" in Cyrillic with Imperial warrant. St. Petersburg, Alexander Liubavin, 1896-1908. 24.2 x 20.2 cm.
