Öl auf Leinwand, doubliert und rest. 69 x 87 cm Provenienz: Bayrische Privatsammlung Gutachten: Dr. Fred Meijer, Den Haag, Oktober 2012 ''For the landscape painting (oil on canvas, 69 x 87 cm) that you showed here on October 2nd, we have not succeeded to find an attribution. As we already mentioned at the time, the attribution to Roelant Roghman is unfortunately incorrect. The painting was sold from the collection of Dr. W.A. Freund, Berlin, at Frederik Muller in Amsterdam on 20 February 1906, lot 128 (illustrated), to Georg Kramer, for 290 guilders. Already at that time the attribution to Roghman was discarded by scholars. Dr. Cornelis Hofstede de Groot crossed our the artist's name in his copy of the sale catalogue and Dr. Willem Martin noted in his: ''Vlaams? Niet veel zaaks'' (Flemish? Insignificant). In our view the painting is most probably German and eighteenth-century. It is somewhat reminiscent of landscapes by C.W.E. Dietrich (1712-1769) but that artist's handling of the brush is more refined.''
