Öl auf Holz. Landschaft im Abendlicht. Atmosphärische Darstellungen einer idyllischen Landschaft in der Abenddämmerung mit Figurenstaffage. Von dem in der Mitte des Bildes gelegenen See gleitet der Blick zwischen den Bäumen und Sträuchern hindurch in die Tiefe des von der untergehenden Sonne luminierten Horizonts. Rechts unten signiert "Léon Richet.". Gerahmt. 47 x 37 cm Bekannt für seine grünen Landschaften zeigt sich sein Einfluß als Landschaftsmaler vor allem bei der Bewegung der Schule von Barbizon (u.a. Rousseau und Courbet). Als Schüler von Diaz, Lefebvre und Boulanger stellte der Maler mehrmals im Pariser Salon aus, so 1885, 1888 und 1901, und wurde mehrfach ausgezeichnet.
