Blick vom Meer auf das Festland mit Windmühlen vor einem mit Wolken verhangenen Himmel. Sowohl stilistisch auch thematisch charakteristisches Werk des an der Wiener Akademie ausgebildeten Österreichers. Unten links signiert "Canal.". In goldfarbenem Holzrahmen mit aufwendiger Ornamentik montiert. 38 x 62 cm Der Landschaftsmaler studierte an der Wiener Akademie. 1878-95 tätig in Düsseldorf, anschließend in München. Wurde 1885 in München mit der Goldmedaille ausgezeichnet. Stellte auch in Berlin und Düsseldorf aus. Wählte vornehmlich Motive aus Norddeutschland und Holland.
