Holz, Bein, Zinn. Rechteckiger Korpus mit flachem Deckel. Außen umlaufend mit Stabmosaik intarsiert. Im Inneren drei ebenfalls von außen intarsierte Beiladen, denen zusätzlich kleine Laden eingeschoben sind. Geschmiedetes Eisenschloss. Schlüssel fehlt. Teils Fehlstellen. 23,5x38,5x27,5 cm Lit.: Martina Pall. Versperrbare Kostbarkeiten. S. 50f. Der Mudéjarstil war in Spanien vom 11. bis zum 16. Jahrhundert verbreitet, als die Christen das Land zurückeroberten, muslimische Kunsthandwerker aber weiterhin für christliche Auftraggeber arbeiteten. Mudéjarstil wird wortwörtlich als ""die zum Bleiben Ermächtigten"" übersetzt. Um Stabmosaike zu erzeugen, leimt man quadratische oder prismierte Stäbe aus verschiedenen Hölzern, Metallen, Elfenbein, Perlmutt oder Bein zusammen und schneidet diesen ""Block"" scheibchenweise ab. Diese Scheiben werden dann einzeln oder aneinandergesetzt in das Massivholz eingelegt."
