Finely painted Palekh icon showing the Mother of God of the burning bush. Palekh, circa 1800. Tempera on gesso on canvas on wood panel. The Mother of God with Christ against an eight-pointed star. A rhombus with eight angels behind. The four corners showing the visions of Moses, Isaiah, Jacob and Ezekiel. Godfather above. Cyrillic inscription at the border. The garments painted predomintantly with reds, greens and golden highlights. Lower part of the border damaged. 35 x 30 cm.
