Ansteigender Scheibenfuß mit Abriss. Im Säulenschaft eingeschlossenes Spiralfäden aus Milchglas. Auf der geweiteten Kuppa geschnittenes, partiell poliertes Brustbildnis, darüber bez. "ADMIRAL EARL HOWE". Rückseitig von Blattzweigen gerahmte Inschrift "THE LORD OF HOSTS IS WITH US". Fußrand auf Unterseite min. best. H. 15,2 cm Richard Howe, 1. Earl Howe (1726 - 1799) war ein britischer Flottenadmiral und Erster Lord der Admiralität. Durch seine Verdienste bei der Royal Navy folgte ein rasanter Aufstieg als Politiker und Admiral. Ab 1758 war er Viscount, von 1753-1788 Erster Lord der Admiralität, ab 1788 Baron und 1. Earl Howe. Schon früh zeichnete sich Howe durch seinen Mut aus und war bei seinen Mannschaften äußerst beliebt, da er sich sehr um das Wohlergehen seiner Männer kümmerte.
