Ilya Yefimovich Repin (1844 Chuhuiv - 1930 Kuokkala) Two men in dicussion. Signed (lower right). Black ink on paper. Waterstained. Framed. 10 x 17.7 cm (visible size). On the reverse the theatre programme of "Crime and Punishment" in 1899. 43 x 20 cm "Crime and Punishment" was the first novel by the Russian author Fyodor Dostoyevsky in 1866. The sketch shows the protagonist Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov in discussion with Porfiry Petrovich.
