A wine glass Otto Prutscher for Meyr's Neffe, Adolf near Winterberg, E. Bakalowits & Söhne, Vienna (retailer), 1906 Farbloses Glas. Der Schaft und die zylindrische Kuppa sind kobaltblau überfangen. Der Colorless glass with cobalt blue overlay, mold-blown, cased and cut as stacked cubes with alternating colored and colorless surfaces facing out, resembling a chain. 21 cm high. Stängel besteht aus einem Dekor von vertikal aneinander gereihten, gegeneinander versetzt Provenance: A South German Property "Otto Prutscher (1880 - 1949), Schüler von Josef Hoffmann an der Wiener This glass represents Otto Prutscher's best-known design in glass and was created for the Viennese luxury retailer E. Bakalowits Söhne, made by the Bohemian glassworks Meyr's Neffe. The form and decoration reflect the artistic preferences of two important avantgarde groups in Vienna in the early 20th century: the Vienna Secession and the Wiener Werkstätte (Vienna Workshops).
