An iridescent glass vase Louis Comfort Tiffany, New York, circa 1896 Light-green glass with trails of yellow. Mark: "L.C.T. B 2217". 20.5 cm high. Punktdekor und gelben gewellten Bändern. Irisiert. Provenance: A Berlin Private Collection Vase in der Zeit von 1896 bis 1900, die Buchstaben P-Z, dass sie zwischen 1901-1905 Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933) is the American artist most associated with the Art Nouveau. He started out as a painter, but became interested in glassmaking from about 1875. The first Tiffany Glass Company was incorporated 1885 and in 1902 became known as the Tiffany Studios. Tiffany used opalescent glass in a variety of colors and textures to create a unique style of glass. In 1902, Tiffany became the first Design Director for Tiffany & Co., the jewelry company founded by his father.
