Im Lichte der Abenddämmerung atmosphärisch mit erkennbar breitem Duktus gemalte holländische Winterlandschaft mit zugefrorenem Flusslauf in silbriggrauem Kolorit. Heimkehrende Bauern auf dem vereisten See sowie ein vereinzeltes Bauernhaus beleben die Szenerie. Für Jungblut sehr typische Darstellung sowohl in stilistisch-formaler als auch in thematischer Hinsicht. Rechts unten signiert "J. Jungblut.". Gerahmt in golden bemaltem Holzrahmen mit ornamentalem Dekor (77x110 cm). 64 x 97 cm Am 16. April 2010 wurde in Saarburg der 150. Geburtstag des Landschaftsmalers Johann Jungblut gefeiert. Der Autodidakt übersiedelte 1885 von seiner Geburtsstadt in seine Wahlheimat Düsseldorf. In Anlehnung an die niederländischen Altmeister malte er überwiegend Landschaftsdarstellungen mit holländischer oder norwegischer Motivwahl. Der Meister der Düsseldorfer Malerschule ist vor allem unter seinem Pseudonym "Johann Sander" bekannt geworden und in die Literatur eingegangen.
