Dominik Biemann (Neuwald 1800- 1858 Eger, Germany)

Biemann was an Bohemian Glass Engraver of the Biedermeier Period. As the son of a carpenter and patternmaker at the Harrachsdorf glassworks he received his training as a glass-engraver at the Novy Svet glassworks on the estate of the counts of Harrach, which was then one of the largest in Bohemia. His teacher was Franz Pohl (1764-1834), the glass-engraver and stone-carver, and Biemann's skill was such that he was nominated First Glass-engraver.
