The Russians Are Coming the Russians Are Coming! The Russians Are Coming the Russians Are Coming- not only in Norman Jewison same-named satire, but also to Heilbronn´s auction house Dr. Fischer, which is featuring a magnificent “Russian Crafts” offer in their upcoming sale on November 12th 2009. The focus lays on more than 200 icons, of which the majority derives from the early Baroque castle “Eringerfeld”, and which were nowhere to be found on the market for almost three centuries. Not only beautifully painted works from Palech, like the Holy Trinity, but also early icons such as an image of St. Nicolas of Myra from the 16th century. Amongst others, a painting attributed to Iwan Konstantinowitch Aiwazowsky with the view of the sunset of Aju-Dag off the Crimean coast (estimated price 28000,- €) is put to auction. Enthusiasts of select and costly produced valuables from Fabergé will be satisfied with a golden Fabergé scent bottle with white translucent guilloché enamel exteriors (estimated price 7000,- €). The rich selection of cloisonné objects, including a large salt chair as well as cigarette cases and bowls from Maria Semenowa, Gustav Klingert and other important masters is also attractive. Another speciality is the silverware produced during the Tsarist times of Catherine the Great or Nicholas II, represented by beautiful, early niello tins, partially decorated with suggestive scenes. Two representative glass vases, partially with silver mounting, by the St. Petersburg Imperial Glass Factory will match quality. The sale is completed with numerous porcelain objects and services, predominantly originated from Russian Royal residences. To receive an impression of the wide range of treasures you can visit the auction house during the visitation week, which takes place from 8th to 12th November 2009.
