A big Vase with Pate-sur-Pate decor Hans Rudolf Hentschel, Meissen porcelain manufactory, circa 1896 Slim baluster corpus in light blue. White Pate-sur-Pate decor: crocus blossom with four dancing elves with gold staffage. Gilded rims. Blue underglazed crossed sword with two engraved lines and no. "Q 107" and "20". 46 cm high Binnenzeichnung zusätzlich in Gold akzentuiert. Fuß- und Mündungsrand vergoldet. Hans Rudolph Hentschel (1869-1951) is one of Meissens most famous artists of Art Nouveau. In 1884, he began his career in the manufacture of Meissen. His father Julius Konrad Hentschel developed the Pate-sur-Pate technique.
