Catalogue:
Our clients have the opportunity to find informations about the objects in our printed catalogue and our online catalogue on www.auctions-fischer.de approximately one month prior to the auction.
The catalogues include thorough descriptions, literary reference notes and estimated selling prices for each lot. Furthermore they contain information on the particular auction, viewing dates and times, instructions for bidding and the conditions of sale.
In December/January we send to all our clients our flyer which includes all details for the catalogue subscription. A catalogue subscription entitles you to receive every catalogue or all catalogues in a given category (Glass, Applied Arts or Russian Works of Art). Subscriptions last for one year.
Public exhibition:
All the objects are on public display for one week before the auction. The exhibition closes at 4 p.m. the day before the auction. The specialists are on hand at these exhibitions to answer any questions you may have about the lots.
Auction:
Intending clients having never bidden with us before might have to supply a cash deposit or bank references. Prior to the auction all bidders have to register with us (Name, address details).

There are four ways to bid with us:
  1. You have the possibility to be present at our auction in the sale’s room.
  2. You may give us an absentee bid. The buyer may submit an absentee bid form. The staff will execute the absentee bid at the lowest possible price, taking into account the reserve price and other bids
  3. You may bid by telephone. Please be so kind to forward a list of the lots you want to bid on during the auction. The minimum amount for telephone bidders is the reserve price. The starting bid always equals the reserve price, if there are no written bids to be considered. If you cannot be reached on the phone, we will bid on your behalf. The minimum amount for telephone bidding is € 300.
Unsold objects are on post-auction sale for two weeks. You can order a list of these objects or have a look at it online. Any lot listed in the list of unsold items is available for purchase at the reserve price and subject to the Conditions of Sale.
Payment:
An item shall be knocked down if after the third call of a bid no higher bid has been made. The premium for a won bid is 26%, incl. VAT. A surcharge of 22% is payable for items marked with an asterisk * and VAT is payable on the purchase price (knock-down price + surcharge). They are to be sold with V.A.T. and are calculated in line with standard taxation, i.e. statutory turnover tax (currently 19 %)is levied on the bid price plus 22% premium. For merchants who have a right to deduct input tax, the invoice may, if desired,(after prior notification)be made out in line with standard taxation. V.A.T. is not charged on shipments to foreign countries (i.e. outside the EU)nor – when the VAT-ID no. is stated -to companies in EU member states, premium in these cases is 22 %.If parties participating in an auction take purchased items into foreign countries themselves, they will be reimbursed the turnover tax as soon as Auktionshaus Dr. Jürgen Fischer has the export and acquirer certificate.

If you are present at the auction, you can pay your purchases cash (subject to certain restrictions) or with cheque at the cashier and take them with you. If you are not present at the sale you can pay your purchases also via wire transfer. After receiving the invoice you can transfer the money, plus bank fees to our account.
Note: We also accept credit cards (VISA, MasterCard and American Express). Payments with credit card will be subject to a surcharge (administrative fees).
Shipping:
You may pick up your property or have it shipped. Auctioned items are stored and shipped after knock-down at the purchaser's expense and risk. Please find a form with the shipping costs attached to the invoice and send it back to us. After the payment has been received, the shipping can proceed. The most economical method of dispatch is by German Post-DHL that provided the purchases do not exceed a certain size and weight. In exceptional cases the buyer will be asked to instruct a shipping agency for the dispatch.
